About Me
I
am a native Oregonian. I was born in Portland and graduated from
Madison High School. I received my Bachelor of Science in
Political Science from Portland State University in 1977. In
1981, I graduated from Willamette University in the top third of
my class with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (JD) and a Masters in
Business Administration (MBA). I was admitted to the Oregon
State Bar in 1981.
For 26 years, I have focused my practice on family law,
personal injury claims, and criminal defense with a special
emphasis on representing juveniles.
I have served as a Pro Tem Judge in Salem Municipal Court and
Marion County Circuit Court and I am active as an arbitrator in
Marion County. I am a member of the Oregon State Bar, Marion
County Bar Association, Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and
the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
On a personal note, I have been married to Dayna, a counselor
and artist, for 35 years (click
here for a link to her website Alley Art Studio), and we
have lived in Salem since 1977. We have three grown children and
four grandchildren.
When I’m not working, I enjoy time with my family, especially
my four grandchildren, golfing, playing softball, attending
cultural events, and spending time on our boat. For many years I
coached youth basketball and baseball. Dayna and I are members
at Court Street Christian Church.
